Just looking at the frozen earth makes me cold! Aren’t you about ready for 80 degree weather? HA I love the pictures and the architecture of the buildings.

    Hi Tatiana :-)
Thanks for sharing the photos! Is the church with the tall white tower the church of Ivan Groznuy? I miss the snow! You are probably fine with the snow since you were born between the two largest snowstorms in San Antonio’s recorded history!
With all my love! Daddy :-)

You seem to be making friends and having fun. Hope Russia is turning out to be all you had hoped. We are pleased that you are adjusting so well with your Russian friends to life in a cold winter country. Picnic must have a new meaning for you. Thanks so much for your thoughtful communication. Keep up your courage and your good diplomatic work.

    Hi Tatiana
I’m your father’s cousin, and even though I’m sure you don’t remember, I did meet you once many years ago. I just found your blog and enjoyed reading the entries. Enjoyed seeing your grandmother last weekend at my father’s 80th birthday party (D. Zhenia). They played together during their childhood in France.
Enjoy the rest of your stay!
    Love, T. Irina

      Dear t. Irina,

Thank you for your message and for visiting by blog! It was a lovely, unexpected surprise. It has been some years since we met but I do remember you and also know of you and your siblings via my father’s childhood stories. I hope that my blog updates will be interesting to you (I see you are now a subscriber, which means you’ll get my updates in your email inbox). My time in Russia and the opportunity to explore the “motherland” has been enriching and I’m so grateful to the Rotary Foundation for funding my time here.

      Congratulations on d. Zhenia’s 80th birthday!

Best wishes to you and your family.

      Love,
      Tatiana
